MUD : Return to the Seanad
The MUD bill made it’s return to the Seanad yesterday for a second reading. Thanks to Senator Dan Boyle for getting us an invite to the reading.
It took over three hours to get through it all, with over 70 amendments proposed by various politicians. Another big thanks to Ivana Bacik of the Labour party who tirelessly tabled every one of our suggestions and argued hard for them.
It will take us a few days for us to work through the transcripts and figure out what will be in or out when the next draft is published. We’ll also be meeting with incolved groups to keep the pressure on. More news when we have it…
The MUD Bill is moving
After a few delays, the MUD bill is on the move again. The second draft will be published and presented to the Seanad this Wednesday. We’ve been communicating with the Dept of Justice throughout the review process so we’re very hopeful that the bill is still is in good condition.
